How to check the User’s ID and the Admin URL

The “Check User’s ID and Admin URL” function is, predictably, divided into 2 separate checks, the “Check User’s ID” check and the “Check Admin URL” check. This section is used to check the accessing user’s ID and make sure they have the necessary credentials to access the WP Site Checker tools, and also whether the default admin URL is accessible, and consequently whether your access is secure.

  • How do I check whether my access to the website is secure?

    • First navigate to the WP Site Checker plugin from the admin console on the left side of your interface.

    • Then navigate to the “WP Security Checks” subsection.

    • Navigate to the “Check User’s ID and Admin URL” section from there.

    • Here you will find two sections detailing different information.

  • Check User’s ID

Under this section you will find a report telling you whether or not the User ID is secure.

    • If this check provides the message “User does not have user ID 1. The website is secure.” then the user ID is secure.
    • If it provides any other message then the ID is not secure.

  • Check Admin URL

Under this section you will find a report telling you whether or not the Admin URL is secure.

    • If it provides the message, “The default admin URL (https://www.websitename.com/wp-admin/) is not accessible. You are currently secure!” then the Admin URL is indeed secure.
    • If it provides any other message then the URL is not secure.
